On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Capital Caring Health, a proud affiliate of Chapters Health System, spread holiday cheer by hosting a Holiday Tree Giveaway for families in the community. In partnership with CJ’s Pediatric Promise Fund and Christmas Tree Santas, this heartwarming event provided 100 families with beautiful 5–6 ft trees, lights, shatterproof ornaments, and stands at no cost.
The generosity extended further with 50 trees donated to children and their families through our partner charities: She Believes in Me, Make a Wish Foundation, and The Sweet Julia Grace Foundation. This wonderful collaboration helped brighten the holiday for even more of the community’s most vulnerable children.
Families also had the chance to enjoy a magical afternoon featuring pictures with Santa, ornament-making, festive treats, cookies generously donated by supporters, games, and musical performance from choir composed of members from 12 local schools. Additionally, 500 goodie bags filled with popcorn, craft kits, and hot chocolate were prepared by students from Centreville High School in Fairfax County.

"We saw the NBC news story about the incredible Elf Squad and your interview! You and the team bring such joy, and we realize how fortunate we are to have witnessed it several times with Paige and her siblings! Although this holiday season is filled with tremendous grief, we continue to rely on our fond memories such as Christmas and the experiences Capital Caring Health brought to our home."

Today we had the opportunity to receive a free live Christmas tree and decorations to go with it. They had advertised five or 6-ft trees but the one that we picked out ended up being closer to 8 ft. It's just gorgeous and every time I look at it my heart overflows. The volunteer team today did an amazing job loving on so many families and giving us that extra little touch of care that often is missing. So thankful!"

They felt that Grandpa had given us this tree and spent most of the day talking about the things he had done for them. When they got home, they set up the tree for me and told me all about their day. We all feel that Grandpa had a hand in giving us this gift but we wanted to make sure you all knew how much we appreciate your part in this. A special thank you to the generous people who donated the trees.
